Ee 367 / Cs 448i Computational Imaging and Display (winter 2016) Notes: Compressive Imaging (lecture 12)
نویسنده
چکیده
This document serves as a supplement to the material discussed in lecture 12. The document is not meant to be a comprehensive review of compressive sensing or compressive imaging. It is supposed to be an intuitive introduction to the basic mathematical concepts of compressive image reconstruction for the single pixel camera. More information can be found in the paper by Wakin et al. [2006], which is representative for an entire class of research papers published throughout the last decade.

Signal-dependent shot noise follows a Poisson distribution and is caused by statistical quantum fluctuations in the light reaching the sensor and also in the photoelectron conversion. For example, a linear camera sensor measures irradiance – the amount of incident power of per unit area. Spectral irradiance tells us how much power was incident per unit area and per wavelength. Given some amount...

متن کاملEfficient Lossy Compression for Compressive Sensing Acquisition of Images in Compressive Sensing Imaging Systems
Compressive Sensing Imaging (CSI) is a new framework for image acquisition, which enables the simultaneous acquisition and compression of a scene. Since the characteristics of Compressive Sensing (CS) acquisition are very different from traditional image acquisition, the general image compression solution may not work well. In this paper, we propose an efficient lossy compression solution for C...
متن کاملFrom modeling to hardware: an experimental evaluation of image plane and Fourier plane coded compressive optical imaging
Computational imaging based on compressed sensing (CS) has shown potential for outperforming conventional techniques in many applications, but challenges arise when translating CS theory to practical imaging systems. Here we examine such challenges in two physical architectures under coherent and incoherent illumination. We describe hardware alignment protocols that can be used to optimize syst...
